Les Soeurs Anglaises

I am so pleased to have been invited back to France next year to run a tapestry workshop at Les Soeurs Anglaises in the Dordogne. A beautiful, relaxed and creative environment. This is a place I have been longing to visit!

The 5 day workshop will run from August 31st to September 6th. For more information on my course see the link below.

Bookings are now open for next year. I hope to see you there.!fiona-rutherford—tapestry-weaving/c1paa

Ode to Autumn

September 30, 2015

The sun coming up as figures disappear into the low early morning autumn mist over the Links in front of my house. Another beautiful day to lift the spirits.

It is Keats “Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness”.

Selvedge Tapestry Workshop

August 4, 2015

I can’t believe it was only just over a week ago that I took these photographs of the tapestry workshop at Chateau Dumas. I had an incredible class who I had difficulty tearing away from their looms.

They were a joy to teach and everyone left with a beautiful little tapestry of their own design.

Pretty good for beginners!

Chateau Dumas

July 19, 2015

This is the view from my window at Chateau Dumas. It is a quite beautiful place. We all arrived yesterday and I am lucky to have a wonderfully interesting and talented group for my workshop.

We had group trip around the small town of St. Antonin this morning. So many things to see. But in amongst the bustle of the market place this amazing installation of threads poured out of a house window into the street and people below.

We had our first session this afternoon and a full day of weaving tomorrow.

Ready to go!

All packed up and ready to go off to tomorrow to Chateau Dumas in France for  my 5 day tapestry workshop. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and being back in France
